Here's an oddly shaped theater:
Orange County Performing Arts Center, Sergerstrom Hall.
Just look at that seating chart. (I wonder how their acoustics are.)
I found it while I was searching for a better photo of Richard Lippold's "Gemini II." This hall has a large indoor-outdoor sculpture by the same artist; it's called "Fire Bird"
By the way, thanks for those photos of "Gemini II," Larry. They are showing only part of the piece, though. I wish you could see it snaking way up high through the lobby. I love the way the light plays upon it as you ascend the stairs to four different levels. |

Having visited Falling Water several times, I decided long ago that only people who have to live or work inside one of these famous buildings can tell you whether they deserve any awards.
No one, by the way, lives in Falling Water and for good reason. _________________ The future ain't what it used to be. (Yogi Berra) |

Bingo! Falling Water was one of Wright's more notable disasters. _________________ Treason doth never prosper: what's the reason? Why if it prosper, none dare call it treason.

Awesome!
I don't think I could force myself to go near the edge, even with the spillover. |

That makes two of us. When I was young, I never even gave a thought to heights. Then one day after I was in my 50s, I was climbing to the top of an old Coast Guard tower near Rehoboth Beach DE, which I had been up many times before, and suddenly I couldn't breathe. I thought maybe it was a heart attack! But it eased if I went down the stairs, came back as I went up. Anxiety! It has gotten worse since then. I have to walk well inside the rails along walkways on city bridges, etc., and cannot abide open elevators. Very sad.
This is a tremendous idea, though. When I was a youngster I would have loved this Infinity Pool. _________________ The future ain't what it used to be. (Yogi Berra) |
